Review - "Nandana's Mark (The Queen of the Realm of Faerie #1) - Heidi Garrett

As a half-faerie and an outcast, Melia longs to fly--like her mother and the other fullblood faeries. However, her lack of wings becomes the least of her concerns when startling visions of destruction, linked to her father's ambitions, escalate. Desperate to stop them, Melia visits the Illustrator and receives a strange mark on her forehead. The mark will draw a green-eyed stranger--one who shares her obsessions--to the Realm of Faerie.

My Review:

This book is the first of a series about three sisters, Melia, Plantine and Melusine who are the children of a faerie mother and mortal father.  The sisters live in the Faerie Realm with their mother who was separated from her true love..  Melia unlike her sisters yearns to have wings like all the faeries but she can’t and on top of that she is having visions of terrible destruction.  Wanting to stop these visions, Melia goes to the illustrator and receives a mark on her forehead which sets her apart from others even more.

What does these visions mean for Melia, who is this stranger that will come to help her and what will become of the Realm of Faerie if her visions are true?

I read this book a while back and just haven’t had a chance to do my review.  I had read this book before Book 2 which I received as an ARC.  I feel in love with the book right off.  Romance, intrigue & mystery, mythical fantasy.  You are drawn into a world where fairies, brownies, witches and many others roam free, where a safe world may not be as safe as you expect and the life of three sisters all of whom are half-breeds not fully accepted into their world.

If you love fairies, romance and just a plain good book then you need to add this to your to be read list and don’t forget to grab the next books in the series!
