Could Her Sworn Enemy Lead Her Out of Darkness?
As a member of an ancient order of hunters, Lark has found that eliminating dangerous vampires is about more than duty. It's personal—a kill for every day her husband was held captive before his death. Staking her prey isn't a challenge until she confronts Domingos LaRoque. Mad with vengeance and the blood of a powerful phoenix, Domingos tests her skills…and seduces her soul.
Once a talented musician, Domingos can't escape the constant music in his head…or his need to destroy the werewolf pack that tortured him. Though trusting the hunter ordered to kill him could be his gravest mistake, the dark desires between them can't be refused. Yet as he and Lark become allies to defeat a mutual threat, loving the enemy may be the ultimate sacrifice.
The two of them hate each other but vow to help each other when things go bad but is it more than just that, a vow to help each other and not kill one other or is there something stirring between the two of them.
The story was full of action right from the beginning. Then through in the growing romance between Lark and Domingos and you have a great story. I loved the love hate relationship that the two of them had, even making you laugh at them at times. The characters are well defined and you couldn’t help feel for both of them and what lead them to where they were today.
I have read a bunch of vampire books throughout the last few years and this one was unique from the others….a romance between a woman who is trained to kill the vampires and the vampire that makes her question everything she has been trained to believe.
