Review - "A Tale of Red Riding : Rise of the Alpha Huntress" by Neo Edmund

In this action packed twist on the beloved Grimm Fairytale, Red Riding will not only face dangerous wolves; she will have to face the wolf within herself. Gifted with the power to transform into a werewolf, she will rise to become a legendary warrior known as the Alpha Huntress. Accompanied by bad-boy heartthrob Wolfgang Helheim, Red will lead a tribe of loyal followers armed with mystical powers of their own against a vile lunar deity, who plans to thrust Wayward Woods into eternal night.

My Review:

Red Riding is found in the woods by a guy she names “Wolf Boy”, he is intolerable but yet he knows where her grandmother lives and since her bike won’t work she accepts his invitation for a ride.  After being in an orphanage since she can remember, Red is reacquainted with long lost friends, Dote and Ash.

Red is then thrown into a world of magic and mystery when she learns she is the next Alpha Huntress and it is up to her to save Wayward from evil.  Along the way Red has to learn to accept help from her friends, Wolfgang (aka Wolf Boy) and Prince (yup that is his name) all of whom will do anything to help her even if it means losing their lives.

This is was such a great story.  I loved the twisted take of Red Riding Hood and all the action that took place in the story, you never knew what was going to happen next or how Red & her friends would handle themselves when faced with danger.  Neo Edmund was able to take a classic tale and had a new spin to it which was well written and paced perfectly.

Definitely a must add to your to be read list!
