Review - "Seductive Shadows" by Marni Mann

Charlie is a passionate, sensually-inspired art student, desperately seeking an escape from the abusive past that haunts her and a tragic accident that emptied her heart. Scarred and unable to love, her yearning for physical pleasure leads her into a tantalizing, dangerous world of power and seduction. The anonymity of the deal offers security; the money brings financial freedom and the madam is the mother figure she longs for.

But the thrill of the mansion and its arousing dominance quickly fades when she meets renowned-yet-mysterious Cameron Hardy, whose intense baby blue eyes send a nervous flutter through her core. Cameron is sexy, and not in a subtle way. He stimulates Charlie's art, her intellect and her desires. Just as he begins to break through her emotional boundaries, she discovers a devastating connection between her past and her scandalous work at the mansion, shattering everything she thought to be true.

Provocative, intoxicating and erotic, Seductive Shadows is the unforgettable tale of a young woman's self-discovery as she learns to forgive, to love and be loved, and to find redemption amidst a remarkable journey that will captivate your mind and stimulate your soul.

This book is for mature audiences. It contains explicit language and sexual content.

My Review:

Charlie is a college art student who lost her best friend in a horrible accident and lives with an abusive mother.  In order to attend college, Charlie works at a hotel during the night to make enough money to pay for one class a semester.  This is all about to change for Charlie when a woman shows up offering her a job where she will never have to worry about money again.

Charlie goes to the mansion and learns that this job involves working at a Mansion and having sex with men; men who are influential in the community but with this doing they both wear masks and she will be known as "Cee".

Now that she has money to pay off the debt her mom has created and to pay for another class, Charlie didn't think that things were that bad until she meet Cameron; a fellow artist whom Charlie starts to fall for and feels that she wants more from him than what she gets at the Mansion.

This is where things go strange!  and this is where I'm going to leave it :)

Now if you are a follower of my blog/reviews, you know that I am a huge fan of the supernatural so this book was different for me (the last non supernatural genre I read was Fifty Shades of Grey).  Having said that however, I was pulled into Charlie's story...her abusive mother whom she had witness having sex with different men, her desire for sex, the loss of her friend and the intrigue of the mansion.  Yes there was a lot of sex in this and by a lot I mean A LOT however it wasn't hard to start to put that part of the story aside and focus on the rest.  There was a couple of twists in the story that left you going OMG but they were so worth it.  Definitely a must read and I would read this one again!
