My review

I found myself intrigued with the societies and what their talents where for each. Chloe was undeclared so she was sent to try out all of the others although she had tendencies of the Doorknob Society.  Chloe is forced to trust people from other societies and even from people she detested from the beginning.

I loved the different use of magic in this book and how the story played along.  I wanted to keep reading to find out more about the societies and how each one’s special talent tied into it all.  I wanted to learn who was the individual trying to gain access to this artifact and what Chloe would do to stop it all and to save her father.

I liked the dynamic between Chloe and Michael as well as with James and how it made her stronger for realizing that she needed help from both in one way or another.

The story itself was full of a mixture of magic, romance, mystery, and suspense and pulled me right in.  I found myself not wanting to put the book down to see what happened next and I will definitely be reading on in the series.
