Review - "Souled" by Diana Murdock

Publication Date: June 18, 2012
Genre:  Young Adult, Romance, Romance, Supernatural (to a point)

One boy… One girl… One 1500-year-old soul hell bent on coming between them… permanently.

The lure of having it all is strong, and when 17-year-old Seth is given the opportunity, how can he say no? And why should he? The way he saw it, he had everything to gain. But when he unknowingly invites another soul to share his body, Seth discovers that not all power is good – espec
ially when it was never his to wield. And when the soul reveals its true intentions, will Seth have the strength to fight it or would death be less painful?

But love is a powerful force, and despite everything, Dani knows that the boy she fell in love with is hiding somewhere behind the darkness in his eyes, and she’s not about to give up so easily.

Enter the most unlikely ally Dani will ever know – dark, misfit, and totally misunderstood Alyx, who has her own secrets she’d rather no one know about.

Time is running out and Seth is quickly losing control. Dani must rely on the truth in her heart – and Alyx - to pull the dark force out of Seth. But will the power of love and faith be enough to conquer evil? Or is it too late for both of them
?

My review:

Seth is a typical 17 year old teenager…member of the wrestling team, a girlfriend and friends.  Seth has a lot to deal with as a teen; his mom has passed away and his dad drives for a living leaving Seth home alone 95% of time.  His three constants in his life are his best friend Josh, his girlfriend Dani and wresting.  He however still struggles; feeling that there is more and will do anything for Dani.  One day he bid’s on an auction and after that he starts noticing things differently about him….well he “bid” on a soul who is now sharing his body enabling him to have things he never thought he would.

With everything that is going on with Seth, his girlfriend Dani still stands by him and she finally realizes that the guy who she sees is not the guy she knows and she will do everything in her power to bring him back.

Interesting story.  Who would’ve thought that you could buy a soul online LOL   I thought the story was interesting enough to want me to find out if they could rid Seth of the soul but I thought there was a lot of information in there that seemed like a filler.  There wasn’t one character in the story that I was drawn to so if which is one of the things that I feel make a “great” book but I’m by no means saying this is a terrible book just not one that I would find myself reading over and over again.
